Monet's Water Lilies. All, really all of his water lily works are among my absolute, really absolute favourite paintings. Water lilies, always and again water lilies.
Summer 2004. Coming in: Neue Nationalgalerie Berlin, MOMA exhibition. Down a flight of stairs ... and at the bottom: the sky opens up inside me – a painting on about estimated 2.80 by 6 metres ... water lilies.
